More Information | To ensure an ergonomic, neutral relaxed posture in your hands, you need a mouse which fits your hand perfectly, which is exactly what the Perfit Mouse Optical does (a Perfect Fit). This mouse supports your hand and wrist, keeping it elevated above the worksurface without restricting circulation, and eliminating the need to 'grip' the mouse. The buttons are longer than traditional mice, allowing you to click with the base of your finger instead of the tip, without having to curl your fingers, which helps to prevent trigger finger.
The vertical scroll wheel is on the side of the mouse on a horizontal axis, making scrolling easier to accomplish. 5 reprogrammable buttons (3 on top and a two-way rocker switch on the side) allows you to customize your Perfit to your needs.
The PMO5 series is also available by special order only for those who preferred the 'classic' design and is identical with the exception of the removal of the vertical scroll wheel. |

The Perfit Mouse Optical from Contour Design is an ergonomic mouse designed for workstations that require above average clicking or cursor movement. The contoured shape of the PMO ‘perfectly fits’ your hand, no matter what size it is or whether you are right- or left-handed. This ‘perfectly fitted’ mouse allows the hand to easily control the basic functions of the mouse while reducing any fatigue that would otherwise result from constantly using a uniformly shaped or ambidextrous mouse. With the PMO, the mouse is meant to perfectly fit your hand, not your hand the mouse. This design principle is just good ergonomics put to effective use.Highlights include:

Reduces Pronation - There is a notch on one side in which to place your thumb, and the mouse slopes downward on the opposite side. This puts your hand at a 20° angle, which is a more natural position for your hand.
No Need to Grip - This design means that the force of gravity on the hand alone provides all the control required to move the mouse; there is no need to grip the mouse.
Reduces Pain and Force of Clicking - The tips of the fingers should hang over the end of the mouse slightly, which allows the user to click with the base of the first segment of the finger - meaning the user is not bending, hovering or lifting up the finger, resulting in approximately 1/10th of the muscles required to perform the clicking action. Because the fingers are not poised in preparation to click, the 'clicking' fingers remain relaxed, outstretched and supported at all times.

- Multipe Sizes for both Left and Right Hands: The Perfit Optical Mouse is available in Small, Medium, Large, and Extra-Large for the right hand and Small, Medium and Large for the left hand. To determine which size is best for you, click here.
- Sculpted Elevated Buttons: This enables the hand to remain open with the fingers extended in a ready position for quick button activation. Buttons are elevated and shaped to reduce excessive load on the fingertips.
- Thumb Support with Integrated Scroll Wheel & Two Position Rocker Switch (Perfit Mouse Classic Plus (PMO5) models do not have Scroll Wheel): The 2 position side rocker switch uses very light touch internal switches and are designed not to require pinch force to activate. The switches "click" with a very slight forward or backward motion of the thumb. The switch 'rocker' is rubber coated and textured to provide maximum grip, with little effort.
- Elevated Wrist Support: Reduces pressure on the wrist by keeping it off the desk top. Maintains a straighter wrist alignment and minimizes Lateral Deviation. Balances the hand in a neutral, tilted posture. Prevents static grip by allowing the hand to rock freely.
- Multiple Platforms: The Perfit Optical Mouse support both PS/2 and USB connections, providing support for the majority of currently assembled and older computer systems.
- Programmable Software: Mac Only. Using the software bundled with the unit allows customization of the Contour Mouse Optical to accomplish tasks faster and easier. Assign distinct functions to each button individually. PC users can use 3rd Party software, such as Mouse-X Button Control from HighRez, to reprogram button functions.
